Our School

Brookfield School is a special school based in Poulton-le-Fylde that caters for pupils with a wide range of needs and challenges linked to social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).

“Brookfield School is a calm, caring and supportive environment where pupils engage well in all learning activities and achieve highly.” (OFSTED, March 2022)

Brookfield School – Overcoming barriers for a brighter future.

Brookfield School provides each pupil with a bespoke program of study, support and intervention that meets their learning, pastoral and social needs alongside future destinations and career aspirations. We also work closely with previous educational providers, families and supporting agencies to provide the very best level of support for each pupil.

Our school includes three provisions split across three different sites, allowing our students to have the strongest opportunities for success at every level. KS3 is based at Poulton, KS4 is based in Fleetwood, and our Transition Pathway is based in Warton.

We provide a learning pathway that aligns with mainstream provision but with smaller classes and increased support. We also provide specialist Yr 7 provision that adopts a primary model of delivery to support transition. At KS4 we have a comprehensive academic, vocational and careers offer that provides the skills, attributes and confidence for all pupils to succeed in their onward journey (Post-16).

In addition to the more traditional KS3 and KS4 offers, we also have pioneered our Transition Pathway, which is aimed at KS4 students with more severe SEMH difficulties or students who have been missing from education for an extended period of time. This pathway aims to reintegrate students into education and prepare them for future opportunities after they leave Brookfield.

Pupil referrals are made through the local authority SEND team but enquiries can be directed through our main office.

Brookfield is a school that works effectively with pupils, families and stakeholders to provide the very best care, intervention, support and opportunities for all of our learners.
