Brookfield School is taking on the challenge of the F1 in Schools Entry Class! This global STEM competition gives students the chance to design, build, and race their very own miniature Formula 1-style car.

What’s the Goal?

More About the Competition
Our school is participating in the F1 in Schools Entry Class, an exciting STEM competition where students design, build, and race miniature F1-style cars! This global challenge helps students develop skills in engineering, design, teamwork, and problem-solving.

This competition is not only about speed—it’s about innovation, creativity, and teamwork. Each team will document their experience in a design portfolio, present their presentation to a panel of judges, and compete on a specially constructed 20m race track.

Through F1 in Schools, students will learn problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills that are necessary for careers in engineering, technology, and business. Whether their dreams are to work for Formula 1, in aerospace, or as a designer, this competition gives real-world experience in STEM.

Competition starts locally, as the teams compete against one another with a chance to go to nationals, and in fact, global finals. Along the way, they’ll establish professional connections, experience a genuine industry sector in addition to mainstream engineering as it is practiced in both arenas.

F1 in Schools is not just a race—it’s an opportunity for students to push themselves, test out their ideas, and gain the confidence to work on real challenges. It will be an experience-based learning exercise that will inspire the future engineers and innovators.

We are proud to announce that Brookfield has won the F1 in Schools competition for the Blackpool region! This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovation of our team. As we celebrate this milestone, we are already looking ahead to the national competition later this year, where we will continue to refine our designs, enhance our performance, and push the boundaries of engineering excellence. At Chicken Run Racing, we’re constantly exploring ways to optimise our car’s performance, and curvature analysis is a critical part of our design process. By carefully analysing the curves of our car’s body and wheel system, we can minimise air resistance and maximise efficiency on the track. A well-optimised curvature ensures smoother airflow, greater speed, and improved handling, ultimately giving us the edge we need to perform at our best. Every detail counts in achieving the perfect balance of design and function.
