Unavoidable Closures

Parents and carers will be notified by telephone or through our online communication systems if the school needs to close due to an emergency.

Our school-led Home-to-School transport team also supports this process. Staff are informed first and will then contact parents and carers directly.

During the winter months, pupil safety is our priority. We monitor weather conditions closely, and if snow is forecast, we focus on ensuring safe access to the site, including gritting and clearing pathways. If conditions deteriorate during the school day, or bad weather is expected around home time, we may need to close the school early. In rare circumstances, we may need to delay the start of the day or close the school entirely. Wherever possible, we aim to make these decisions the evening before, based on the guidance and information available, so families have clear notice.

All updates and decisions will be communicated directly to parents and carers.
