Online-Safety

Online safety flows through everything we do and is reinforced through our ICT and PSHE curriculum.

At Brookfield School, we are committed to ensuring pupils learn to use the internet and digital technology safely and responsibly. Online safety is taught through our curriculum in all years and reinforced through out safeguarding procedures. Please visit our curriculum page to see the online safety topics taught at KS3 and KS4.

All pupils are encouraged and supported to use online platforms safely with consideration for others.

Monitoring systems are effective and all pupils are encouraged to share their experiences and concerns around online activity.

As a school we subscribe to a comprehensive online safety platform (National Online Safety) that supports pupils, parents and staff in all aspects of online safety.

Our web filtering software – keeping your children safe

The school uses Classroom.Cloud to support online safety and enhance learning. This software allows teachers to monitor student activity on school devices, ensuring that students are using technology appropriately and safely during lessons. It also helps us identify and address potential online risks quickly, promoting a secure digital environment for all pupils.

For Parents and Carers

We encourage parents and carers to take an active role in supporting their child’s online safety. This includes setting appropriate limits on screen time, being aware of social media age restrictions, and monitoring online gaming activity. Using parental controls can help manage access to content and apps, while open conversations with children about safe and responsible online behaviour reinforce positive habits. By staying informed and engaged, parents can help their children navigate the digital world safely. For more detailed advice and resources, please see below.

We have been a National Online Safety accredited school since 2018!

If parents and carers have any concerns about their child’s online safety, or wish to report an incident, they should contact the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), speak to a member of staff, or use the CEOP reporting button available on this website. If you are worried about online sexual abuse or the way someone has been communicating with you online, you can report it through the CEOP website
