PDSI

PDSI (Personal Development, Support & Intervention) is the essential wrap-around support mechanism that identifies and supports pupils, families and staff in providing individualised support for every pupil.

PDSI, – Personal development Support and Intervention Is a process developed by Senior Leaders and DSL’s to identify students who may require additional support or intervention. The Head teacher, Provision Leads, SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Leads meet weekly, to discuss students that are highlighted as causing concern and develop a plan to support further. This is reviewed weekly. Support may include referrals to specialist services, access to the school counsellor, Speech and Language therapy, referral to neurodevelopmental pathway, emergency EHCP review, or adaptation to timetable or provision. This process allows SLT to share plans with staff who work with the students to also assess and monitor progress. Interventions are shared with parents/carers as needed and the LA on a monthly basis.

Family Support and Attendance workers inform PDSI of their caseload which collectively initiates the necessary support and intervention.
